A lot of what we believe about money comes from what we learn through experience, conversation, and often through the books we return to again and again. Over time, certain reads stand out not just for their advice, but for how they shift the way we think about earning, saving, and making decisions.
Kristine has always approached finances with that kind of curiosity and intention. Her recommendations are about building a mindset, understanding trade-offs, and developing a more thoughtful relationship with money.
Below is a collection of books that have influenced how she thinks about finances. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to refine your approach, these are the reads she believes are worth your time.

Worry-Free Money: A lot of our work was based on work and concepts in this book by Shannon Lee Simons (The New School of Finance). If you like us, you’ll like her!

Girl Just Wanna Have Funds: Well written and woman-focused. One thing to pay attention to is that they share typical financial industry standards; as opposed to newer research that shows some of these guidelines are not the best for women.

Invisible Women: The book that started it all. The unintended consequences of a world designed for men. And what it costs women.

Living Debt-Free: Another classic from Shannon Lee Simmons, this book captures an amazing look at practical strategies to work through debt, with a realistic, empathetic approach to managing money,

Activate Your Money: Very deep and detailed dive into investing. As with most books on investing, this is based mainly on investing in the US, but much of it applies globally.

The Pink Tax: Love this book, it’s an easy read, and it covers the thousand cuts that women face when it comes to money. It also includes some great money advice/guidance as well!

Clever Girl Finance: We love how Bola talks about how common financial mistakes are and how to course-correct these. She sees how women are impacted differently by money, and gives you action steps that you can do to move forward.

No Regret Decisions: A brilliant framework for how to make financial choices when none of the options seem appealing, or it feels like there are too many options on the table.
Building a thoughtful approach to money doesn’t stop with what you read—it’s about how you put those ideas into practice.
